I have chosen to analyse the short story, "On the Rainy River," through an archetypal lenses because Tim O'Brien plays the Hero. When looking at the story from an archetypal perspective, there are many symbols, characters, etc. that portray an archetype. Tim demonstrates the Hero archetype through his journey after he received the draft letter. O'Brien did want to run away to Canada and he almost went through with it, but ended up staying in the U.S. He eventually was sent to Vietnam for the war; he did not want to serve in the war because he did not believe in fighting. I feel Tim would of had to been brave to go forward with a plan that would had forced him to leave his family and whole life behind. Even though he did not pursue the plan, he came back and fought for his country. Tim O'Brien went through a journey, that allowed him to be a hero for his country even if that was not his original plan that summer. Individuals might not agree and say Tim O'Brien is not a hero because he tried to flee to Canada. Most poeple have never experienced what it is like to not have a choice to go to war. Leaving your family, friends, and practically whole life to go kill others from a different country. Soldiers go into war not knowing what is going to happened.
Am I going to live to see another day? It is difficult to go through ad see the things soldiers see on a daily basis. I believe Tim O'Brien is a hero, even if the story ending would have been different and he had made it to Canada.

Are essays difficult?
I feel the most difficult part of writing an essay is coming up with introduction paragraph. It is hard for me sometimes because English teachers prefer how they would like the paragraph to be. Such as, some teachers want the introduction to be short and some prefer it to be long. When sharing and discussing with peers, it allows both individuals to find grammar errors in the writing piece. Also, you are able to discuss ways of rewording sentences to make the essay even better. Tips and suggestions I have learnt...
Some of my essays have been more successful than others because I would not get others to proof read my essay. Getting peers to read your essay over can improve your writing piece and can benefit your marks. One direction/ Def Leppard/ Copy/ Song/Base line/ LyricsThe big question...Is "Midnight Memories," by One Direction a rip off of "Pour Some Sugar On Me," by Def Leppard. Well yes and no. When listening to the two songs, it is clear that the base line of both are very similar, if not the same. The base of the songs show that One direction could have copied Def Leppard. On the other hand, the songs have different lyrics. So does that mean its original? Both artist/bands have written about different topics and their lyrics relate towards their targeted audience. Also, the music videos of both songs relate to the lyrics which helps make the songs more original and unique from each other. The Boy band was lucky since Def Leppard did not go to court. Down below are the 2 songs. Listen to both and let me know what you think! Was it creativity or copying? Guidelines artist should follow to ensure copyright does not occur....
I definitely recommend this podcast! This medium was very intriguing to listen to since it was a topic that I was interested in. I love learning knew things and throughout this podcast I got to get an understanding of the justice system and the people who work there. A lot of podcast are very interesting and can be educational. I enjoy listening rather than reading because when information is being told to me rather than me reading it, I understand and retain the details more. Did Sarah think about the victim's families?
I feel Sarah Koenig did not think of the victims and their families when creating this podcast because these cases could be very personal for them and if one might not have gotten the justcie from their case, this could invade their privacy. They might feel violated that their stories are becoming famous and are getting known to the world since the podcast is getting popular. Should grade 12 University level English be a requirement for entry into all university programs?7/6/2020 Is there any point of having grade 12 English as a requirement for all university courses? Yes. English is very important to learn and everyone should be taught the course because it is very useful. High school English courses can help in many ways that benefit the person going into University. Individuals can learn lessons, such as, grammar errors/ proper way of writing sentences, correct essay formats, poetry, Shakespeare, and reading novels. These lessons help enhance students' thinking and understanding. Poetry really makes you think of meaning the poet is trying to portray. Shakespeare plays allow us to extend our thinking by writing in a way were we might not be familiar with. Reading novels throughout the course lets students' expand their vocabulary and allows them to read where in other courses they may not do so. If grade 12 English was required for all University courses, it would encourage students to put more effort into the course which allows them to fully understand the contexts given and to learn more.
